Spectacular special exhibitions take place every year, e.g. about the Maya or the South Sea, which attract an international audience. The museum also has a wide spectrum of collections on natural history, ethnology, art and culture history. The varied offer is complemented by guided tours, workshops, special events and publications on selected exhibitions.


Marienburg Castle

Picture: Hildesheim - Marienburg Castle Marienburg Castle, situated between Hildesheim and Hannover, is one of the most significant examples of neo-Gothic architecture in Germany. The former summer residence of the Guelphs was once a gift from the Hanoverian King George V. to his wife, Queen Marie, and can be viewed today as part of a one-hour guided tour. The atmospheric Castle Restaurant in the former stables is perfect for relaxing.
