Watch the lively Asian short-clawed otter in one of the largest facilities for this species in Germany. Admire the agility of the cheetahs and look a Siberian tiger in the eye or relax with a stroll through the well-kept park. The Noah's Ark Zoo in Braunschweig is home to more than 300 animals of more than 50 different species.
You can also experience the enclosures from the lofty heights of the back of a pony. Children and young people can learn about biology and species and environmental conservation in our zoo school, where experience-orientated learning complements school biology lessons perfectly.
In the neighbouring Essehof animal park, visitors gain a glimpse into the animal life of other continents. There are biotopically designed enclosures in a rural setting on the edge of woodlands. You'll be amazed by rare native domestic animal species, such as the tarpan horse or the Racka sheep. Enjoy the antics of the raccoons and see kangaroos first hand in the Australia safari park area. And uniquely in North Germany, the water nature trail with underwater area, where you can stand 3 metres below the surface of the water.
