Münden Nature Park

Wooded hills and river valleys characterise the beautiful landscape of one of the oldest nature parks in Germany around the town of Hann. Münden. The best-known attraction in the Münden nature park is Hann. Münden's old town, with its many mediaeval half-timbered houses. The traveller Alexander von Humboldt considered Hann. Münden one of the seven most beautifully situated towns in the world. The Werra and Fulda meet here to form the Weser ("Where Werra and Fulda kiss, must they leave their names behind them“). The rivers have cut their way deep into the coloured sand stone and are a characteristic feature of the Münden natural park.

One of the highlights of the park is the variety of orchids in the well-lit woods of the Werra valley. The best way of exploring the park is by foot or by bike, along the rivers. Or if you prefer to travel by water, you can enjoy the beautiful landscape by boat.
