Celle Stallion Parade in the Niedersachsen State Stud

The Celle Stallion Parade equestrian event traditionally takes place on the last two weekends in September and the first weekend in October. The most beautiful stallions are put through their paces in a three hour programme on the parade square, which is surrounded by historic buildings and ancient trees. All the stallions of the Niedersachsen State Stud (currently numbering around 200) are presented, either led by hand, ridden or pulling historic carriages.

For over 80 years, breeders and riders from Germany and abroad have been visiting the Stallion Parades to get a picture of the nature, temperament, abilities and flexibility of the Hanoverian horse. Highlights include the dressage and the carriage drawn by 13 stallions. The State Stud can also be visited separately from the Celle Stallion Parade. Between 15th July and 15th February each year, visitors can stroll through Celle's hallowed halls from 8.30 - 12 am and 1 - 5 pm.
