Environmental educational centre of the Heinz Sielmann Foundation

The manor house Herbigshagen is situated in the beautiful countryside of Eichsfeld. Thanks to its great variety of different species it is ideally suited as an educational space. The nature exploration centre offers kindergardens, schools and clubs multifaceted options to experience nature in new ways.

Today, the centre of the Heinz Sielmann Foundation is a recognised regional environmental education centre (RUZ) of Niedersachsen and as such offers many different exploration stations for young and old: an interactive nature path with a farm garden, apiary, a nesting wall for insects, free reptile terraces and a wetland biotope as well as the eco-farm with endangered domestic and farm animal species and a lot more. Here you can get a close encounter with the animals. Also the ponds, the big farm garden and the orchard meadow want to be explored. During the winter, Easter, summer and autumn holidays, the nature exploration centre offers a very mixed event program, specifically targeted at kids and teens.

Opening times:
April - October: daily from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
November - March: daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Closed from December 24 to January 2
