The former rain forest house in Hannover has been converted into a large aquarium. Then the new SEA LIFE Hannover, the first tropical SEA LIFE marine aquarium in Germany, will open. Take up a fascinating, breath-taking journey from the Leine over the Caribbean Sea to the tropical rain forest to the River Amazon. Discover the habitats of turtles, sea horses, sharks, rays & their relatives in iridescent underwater worlds!

The centre of the construction is an ocean basin, through which an 8-meter-long glass tunnel leads. The sea dwellers circle around directly above the visitors heads. Many exotic plants have also found a new home under the glass dome of the former rain forest house and create a lifelike tropical atmosphere.

In the freshwater area you can explore the native waters and learn a lot about the Leine and its dwellers such as trout or carp. A transition zone then leads you from Hannover to the tropics. You wander through the mangroves in the direction of the sea and discover the first sea horses. In front of precipitous, hardly translucent rocks you observe majestic rays that curiously come swimming towards you.

March - October: last admission 5 p.m., exhibition closes at 6.30 p.m.
November - February, Monday - Friday: last admission 4 p.m., exhibition closes at 5.30 p.m.
November - Februrary, Saturdays and Sundays: last admission 5 p.m., exhibition closes at 6.30 p.m.
