phæno - The experimental landscape

Picture: phæno is Germany’s unique experimental landscape for natural science and technology in a spectacular architecture practiced by the London architect Zaha Hadid. The world of scientists meet there with a desire to try something new and with each individual opening up new perspectives. phæno offers the discovery »Kick« - the origin of all research desires and urges and a prerequisite for all innovations. phæno is an experience for all curious people who let themselves in for a quite special type of adventure. The most spectacular phenomena are discovered on more than 7,000 square meters of action area.

Picture: In the inside of the futuristic building, visitors go through an open landscape with craters, terraces, plateaus and underground cave-like formations. 250 interactive experimental stations, visitor laboratories, the idea forum and scientists’ theatre invite guests to experience natural science phenomena. Touching and trying things out oneself - this is an aspect which is emphasised by phaeno. In the phaeno, visitors are for example able to touch a tornado, to watch the origin of geysers or try their skills with rodeo riding for example.
