White Sands Festival on Norderney

Every year the German Windsurfing Cup on Norderney attracts professionals from the surfer scene to the East Frisian island. At the White Sands Festivalat the "Januskopf", the athletes can once again put all their skills to the test. Top surfers battle for victory in the racing, wave-freestyle and slalom disciplines, and celebrate until late into the night at the festival parties and concerts.

At the Renault Beach Cup, the best German beach-volleyball players play for qualification points for the German Championship. At least 16 top-class German women's and men's teams will dig and scrape for the prize-money on Norderney. With pipes and ramps, jumps over cars and people, the inline skaters will rally up to 10,000 spectators at the promenade every afternoon and provide a fantastic atmosphere. Not to forget the kite-surfers - this latest water trend-discipline is becoming increasingly more popular in the surfing scene. Kite-surfing is a combination of the classic surfing with paragliding. Spectacular jumps and performances are possible, because the athletes glide over the water with the aid of a hang-glider.
