Terrific showdown with wind and water on Norderney

Norderney is a dream for enthusiastic water and beach sportsmen and women: “Kiters” will find one of the top spots in Germany here, surfers love the surf at Januskopf and sailors will also find themselves in good company. Every year a sailing regatta takes place, which is concluded with the popular sailor ball.

It is even possible to spend the night on board the sailing school ship “MS Freundschaft.” Windsurfers hope for surf, high waves and a strong current in front of the north beach of the island – whereas the bay at the yacht harbour, where the water is shallow and there aren’t very big waves, offers good surfing opportunities for beginners.
